Charity Drop @ Kameeldrift Primary School | 30 Nov 2019

With great participation, our Kameeldrift Charity Drop started on Friday night, the 29th of November, when our members gathered in the numbers to start packing the food parcels at T4M. Everyone worked very hard in getting the parcels packed and the truck loaded for departure in the morning.

Our Legends met at T4M again on Saturday the 30th and pack briefing started at 08:30. We departed at 09:00 heading off to Kameeldrift Primary School with our over excited Legends pack, a sleigh, a truck packed to capacity and a few bakkies in tow.

The ride was slow as neither the truck nor the sleigh could travel more than 80km/h on the highway. This however did not frustrate fellow road users as it was clear that this convoy was on a joyous and dedicated mission!

We had a quick stop just before Kameeldrift to decorate the bakkie and sleigh, after which the bikes arrived at the school with great cheer and excitement. Songs were sung and Santa was called by each and all!

Our very own Santa (uncle George) arrived on the sleigh, ringing his bell to the sound of Jingle Bells and children cheering and waving. After interacting with the kids, Santa took his seat on the sleigh with eager elves and plenty of helpers, all ready to assist in spoiling the children! Olla, Tasia, Daphne and even our “Legend kids” got involved in handing out party packs and cooldrinks to the kiddo’s.

Each family received a pink slip from the school, enabling them to collect a food parcel and with much love, they were distributed from the truck.

In total we made up 180 food parcels. Each food parcel feeds a family of 4, three times a day for 10 days. We also received 300 protein packs that we handed out with every parcel. In total it was 21 900 meals, made up at a minimal cost of R1,50 per meal.

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone involved in making this a super successful day!! We did as our logo reads and we sure DID MADE A DIFFERENCE!!
