On the 30th of September, we made a huge difference at Rusgevind Care Centre in Sinoville. We met the most amazing people whose passion is to care for more than 30 fragile pensioners who need nursing care and just that little bit of extra assistance. Their dedication and loving care showed us that there is still so much good In this world. We were reminded of how precious “time” is and that we must make every second count. We need to have a heart of understanding, love, and care for one another. We need to remain patient and give all our respect for the elderly because they have earned their dignity through their lifetimes. They’re so precious in every way!
Caring about others, running the risk of “feeling,” and positively impacting people brings so much joy, and that’s precisely what we did! It’s the little things that make a tremendous impact on people. We had the privilege of giving each pensioner personalized “goodie – bags” and treating them with a dessert that “Andre” PERSONALLY made. (Hy is ‘n voorslag in die kombuis). But wait, that’s not all!! Because of our family we could also donate adult nappies, bedding and towels. They had a particular room for Jorra ready where he’ll fit right in! Billy made a couple of pensioners jealous by the way he can operate a “walker”. Michael was “ cautiously “ interactive and, for some reason, had his business cards ready (?)
What a privilege and inspiration it was to meet “tannie Tokkie” who’ll be turning 101 on the 18th of December. She has accumulated a lifetime of memories for over a century and that’s something to treasure truly. God’s grace is never-ending.
I’ll leave you with this quote: Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God….
